J. Alberto C. Flaminiano


Jay Flaminiano is one of the leading criminal trial lawyers in the Philippines. He was part of the defense team of President Joseph Ejercito Estrada in the impeachment trial before the Philippine Senate and in the criminal proceedings before the Sandiganbayan. He has also been engaged as counsel of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

Before starting his private practice, Mr. Flaminiano had a stellar career in government service. He served as Legal Officer and Intelligence Officer of the then National Intelligence and Security Authority from 1983 to 1986, and Department Manager of the Intelligence and ID Pass Control Department of the Manila International Airport Authority. Mr. Flaminiano also served as member of various in-service committees, such as the MIAA Task Force APEC; Sub-Committee on Dangerous Drugs of the National Law Enforcement Coordinating Council; and MIAA Crisis Management, among them. Mr. Flaminiano likewise served as Officer-in-Charge of several important offices of the MIAA, such as the Office of Assistant General for Security and Emergency Services; the Airport Police Department; and the Legal Office of the MIAA.

Mr. Flaminiano was a practicing attorney for the Flaminiano Law Office from 1986 to 1990, and then from 1997 to 2006. Prior to joining FAD, Mr. Flaminiano was a special counsel of the Marcos Ochoa Serapio & Tan Law Offices from 2007 to 2010.
