Roy Relato is a CPA-Lawyer with an extensive experience in providing advisory services on tax and corporate matters to multinational and local companies. He assists clients on corporate organization, bookkeeping, tax and payroll compliance; as well as corporate acquisition, restructuring and dissolution. He conducts tax compliance review of local and multinational companies. He represents clients on matters relating to tax assessment and refund cases before Bureau of Internal Revenue. He also advises clients on customs compliance issues and represents clients during post entry audits conducted by the Bureau of Customs. He also represents clients in tax cases before the regular courts, the Court of Tax Appeals and the Supreme Court.
Roy Relato worked as an auditor of Sycip Gorres Velayo & Co. (Ernst & Young Philippines). He was a senior associate at Quisumbing Torres Law Office (Baker & McKenzie Philippines) where he was part of the Tax Practice Group, rendering tax litigation, advisory and customs work for multinational companies. He was also an associate of Du-Baladad and Associates, where he performed tax litigation work.
Roy Relato was a tax manager of Punongbayan & Araullo & Co. (P&A), an affiliate of Grant Thornton Ltd., where he gained extensive experience in handling tax and corporate work in pharmaceutical, petroleum, shipping and other industries. In 2010, he was a key member of the P&A tax team that garnered the prestigious Founder’s Award.
Roy Relato wrote tax columns in several issues of the Business World. He was also a faculty member of the De La Salle University – College of Saint Benilde where he lectured on income taxation.
